On March 16, 2015 at approximately 8:45 pm Steve Brackens was shot multiple times in the 1200 block of Sumner St. Steve had been socializng wth friends when a dark colored SUV approached and began firing in the direction of Mr. Brackens. Mr. Brackens sustained two gunshot wounds and was transported by EMS to University Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
