On Monday, July 2, 2019, Kendrick Cockerham, 40, was shot and killed at the intersection of Downman and Dwyer roads. NOPD Seventh District officers responded to a call of shots fired around 2:21 P.M. Upon arrival, officers discovered two male victims in the area suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims was declared dead at the scene. The second victim was transported to an area hospital, where he later died.
