Is there a specific event which stands out that expresses how this officer/deputy has gone above and beyond the call of duty to assist?
On May 16, 2025, Officer Feraci was responsible for identifying a large-scale, multi-state, organized retail theft ring. Officers responded to Dick’s Sports Goods in Town Center Parkway, and during the initial call for service, officers captured one subject, recovering over $1600 worth of stolen goods. Knowing other subjects were involved, Officer Feraci took it upon himself to author a search warrant on the apprehended subject’s cellphone to identify the other subjects involved, who were able to avoid capture. This search warrant led not only to the identification of three additional subjects involved but also uncovered that the crew was responsible for a theft at the Dick’s Sporting Goods in Mobile, Alabama, totaling over $3,600 worth of merchandise. Furthermore, the group attempted a theft at Dick’s Sporting Goods in D’Iberville, Mississippi, but were unsuccessful in stealing any merchandise. Officer Feraci went well beyond the scope of his normal patrol duties, and in doing so, resulted in identifying that organized retail theft ring, believed to be operated out of Houston, Texas. Officer Feraci’s hard work also resulted in being able to share this information with the Mobile Police Department and the Houston Police Department, which shines a positive light not only on the Patrol Division, but the Slidell Police Department as a whole.
