What positions has this officer/deputy held within your agency?

Deputy Jacob Paretti has served in Corrections and Court Security and now works as a patrol deputy.

Under the specific qualifications cited in our qualifications, please provide example(s) of what has this officer/deputy done that merits their nomination?

Maintained his drive to learn. Always been a positive influence on his peers. Maintains a self-motivated work ethic. A willingness to see things through and not allow someone else to finish what he has started not matter how complicated it becomes.

Is there a specific event which stands out that expresses how this officer/deputy has gone above and beyond the call of duty to assist?

There are several examples that stand out, but 2 in particular are exceptional:

2025-003064 – 94 – 2 arrests – 11 guns seized – almost 400 g of marijuana – almost 190 g of mushrooms – 76 pills (illicit drugs) – 4 LSD dosage units – 3 total search warrants done (2 on property and one on a surveillance monitoring system)

DFC Paretti could have just looked at the surface of what was going on, but he did not. He dug and followed through completely with this investigation. He handled an investigation that in most cases would have been handled by Criminal Investigations Division or Narcotics.

2025-005692/853 – 966 – 4 arrests – 2 guns seized – 15 g marijuana – over 16 g methamphetamine – 0ver 50 g mushrooms – 14 g of heroin

This investigation lasted a span of several days. The initiative of securing an unmarked detective’s vehicle and enlisting the Special Operations Division for drone surveillance were some of the methods DFC Paretti used to build a case. This, of course, was done by teamwork; however, DFC Paretti was lead and the primary deputy in this investigation. This too shows a willingness to think outside the box and utilize resources available, though not commonly used by patrol deputies.

How is this officer/deputy described by their peers?

DFC Paretti is well respected by his peers. He is definitely a team player and stays motivated. He takes into account the needs of the team and tries to be aware of their needs. He is definitely a person you can depend on to help and assist.

“He’s always trying to do that extra step. A little bit more.”

“He maintains a positive attitude toward his teammates and the department.”
“He is always willing to go the extra mile and stay well grounded.”

“He is a “young” deputy, but he hit the ground running and has taken on many investigative methods that even seasoned deputies may not have experienced. Including search warrants for cellular phones, property, and equipment. He has done more and gained more experience than many 15-year deputies.”
