Crimestoppers Teen Ambassadors representing 19 high schools from across three parishes will hold its monthly meeting this Saturday in the format of a mock trial. The mock crime scene and trial offers a positive learning experience for the Crimestoppers Teen Ambassadors. The program participants will experience first-hand what happens from the onset of a crime being committed. The mock trial will offer them an overview of the justice system, from its beginning, which will include review of police work, pretrial procedures and the court system overall. It’s a great way for us to encourage the Ambassadors to become crime prevention role models. “It is important for the youth of our community to be educated about the criminal justice system and this mock crime scene and trial gives them an opportunity to experience this first hand,” states Judge Robin Pittman.
