KENNER-Everyone is invited to attend the 14th Annual National Night Out Against Crime Kick-Off Party taking place on Sunday, October 13th, from 2:30-6 p.m. at Laketown in Kenner.
As always, there will be exciting entertainment, including children's activities, various displays and demonstrations by law enforcement professionals, live music and great food- ALL FREE! Representatives in every area of law enforcement will be there to talk with you. This is an excellent opportunity for people considering a career in law enforcement to have their questions answered by experts in each field and to find out what their jobs are all about. It's also a great time for citizens and officials to interact and to discuss important issues in our community.
The Kick-Off Party is a prelude to the 30th Annual National Night Out Against Crime, which Kenner will observe on the evening of Tuesday, October 15, 2012. Citizens can help us celebrate the event in variety of ways, such as having a block party, a cook out, or by sitting on their front porch with their lights on- a symbol that has become tradition over the years. Those organizing parties or gatherings on October 15 are encouraged to call the Kenner Police Department to have officers visit their neighborhoods. Join your local law enforcement agencies in promoting crime prevention awareness and neighborhood unity in the fight against crime!
