Crimestoppers is taking prayer requests. Now more than ever our city needs to unite together to begin healing from the recent increase in violence. On August 22nd at half past noon (12:30 p.m.) church bells will ring throughout the city and call citizens to stop for a moment of reflection. "A Night of Blue" will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Generations Hall, 310 Andrew Higgins in New Orleans. The event will start with a VIP Patron Pre-Party from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm followed by general admittance from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Local entertainment will include Rockin' Dopsie, James Andrews, the Bucktown All-Stars, Bruce "Sunpie" Barnes, Charmaine Neville, Kermit Ruffins and more local acts to come. The event will include delectable cuisine from local restaurants and caterers, an open bar and silent auction. It will be a fun filled evening for all. At the event, Crimestoppers GNO will announce an increased reward for tips in shootings and homicides.   The reward increase will last over the summer months and be implemented throughout the nine parishes the non-profit organization serves. Crimestoppers GNO serves as an invaluable resource to the local community, providing concerned citizens with a safe and anonymous way to report and reduce crime in their neighborhoods.   In addition, Crimestoppers GNO is calling for a day of prayer and healing. What is GiveNOLA Day? Hosted on Tuesday, May 2nd by the Greater New Orleans Foundation, GiveNOLA Day is the community’s one-day, online giving event to inspire people to give generously to the nonprofit organizations that make our region a stronger and more thriving community for all. It’s our day to come together as one! Every dollar donated from midnight to midnight on May 2nd will be increased with additional “lagniappe” dollars provided by the Greater New Orleans Foundation and our generous GiveNOLA Day sponsors. Last year, $4 million dollars was raised from 28,000+ donors around the nation. How can I participate? Everybody can participate on GiveNOLA Day! Individuals can make online donations to Crimestoppers GNO here.
